Brookfield Properties engaged RoadRunner to improve recycling levels and educate their staff and and tenants across their properties on proper recycling practices. Brookfield Properties also wanted accurate reporting metrics.
RoadRunner’s Impact
Brookfield initially engaged with RoadRunner at 6 locations, but quickly expanded to 17 total locations across Washington D.C., Virginia and Maryland.
Over the course of just three months, RoadRunner was able to increase the recycling rate across all properties by 91%, moving the average from 22% to an average of 42%! Additionally, RoadRunner's ability to accurately track recycling and landfill tonnage and provide transparency, helped Brookfield Properties improve their reporting capability.
This increase in recycling is equivalent to 40K gallons of oil saved, 60k kilowatt hours avoided and nearly 4k cubic yards of landfill diversion. This impact will only grow as the partnership between Broofield and RoadRunner continues to grow.
